Common Causes For Road Traffic Accidents

One of the leading causes of deaths in many countries are car accidents. These accidents occur due to a number of reasons, including reckless driving, intoxication, lack of proper road and safety management and the like.
While we can all agree that car accidents are mostly caused due to a mere coincidence which is beyond anyone’s control, this is not always the case. This is because many accidents are caused due to the negligence of individuals who are either reckless in their driving habits or simply drive during intoxication which clouds their judgment. This sort of negligence often results in various car accident injury claims. Let’s take a look at some of the factors that cause car accidents.

Common Causes For Car Accidents
  • Driver distraction due to talking on a cell phone, texting someone, dropping items, eating in the car, etc are the kind of reasons why many accidents occur.
  • Similarly, driver impairment such as driving under the influence of drugs and driver fatigue can often lead to accidents.
  • Car mechanical failure is another factor which often contributes to car accidents. In such a case one can file a claim against the company which might have manufactured the faulty part or the mechanic who might have been negligent in fixing the car.
  • If the road conditions are bad they can often lead to road traffic accidents.
  • The weather plays a major role in car accidents and bad weather can easily lead to a major accident. This may be the case due to lack of visibility (e.g. due to fog or rain), as well as other variable factors such as lightening,  falling trees, damaged poles, etc.
  • Sometimes accidents can even be caused due to negligence in designing roads, fly overs, under passes and bridges. Such faulty designs can easily result in accident prone areas within a road and cause major accidents on a frequent basis.
